Holiday Food Drive

Get ready and get busy. The Feed this city Holiday food drive is underway. There is a big need in Oakland and Alameda for food this year. Let's provide a good healthy holiday meal for a needy family near you. Here are ways you can help.

1) Begin to collect can goods. Every time you and your family bus groceries buy an extra can or two for the food drive. Then when you have a full bag or box of can goods bring them to the Feed This City headquarters located at The City of the Lord, Zion Church 3618 Dimond Ave, Oakland, Ca 94602.

2) You can send a donation by snail mail to: Feed This City, 3618 Dimond Ave Oakland, Ca 9460
Make checks payable to Smilehenry Communications. For tax write off make checks to The Multi-Cultural Dance Foundation ....for Feed This City.

3) Donate online: www.feedthiscity.bbnow.org

4) Volunteer: You can volunteer to help sort and bag groceries, solicit for can goods and/or donations, help at special events. Email us and let us know of your interest. Feedthiscity@gmail.com or call us at 415-496-6709.

Hungry at Heart

We usually refer to our physical body when we say we are hungry. But there is a hunger that is within the core of our hearts that can be a catalyst in or lives toward achieving our goals and living our dreams. This hunger is so powerful, it will cause a person to press on forward even in the face of great challenges. This hunger can strengthen the weak and cause them to be as strong as a mighty warrior. This is the hunger that can lift a person from the dust of failure and set them on the high mountain of success. Yes, this hunger really lies deep within us all. This hunger to believe, achieve, to be great and to succeed is within the depths of our inner core. So let us feed this hunger by offering opportunities whereby a person may experience success and achievement. Yes, lets feed not only those who are hungry physically, but also those who are hungry at heart.

Today for lunch I had a salad with chicken, orange juice and a banana. It was really tasty and refreshing. I wonder what you, the reader ate for lunch today? I also wonder what other people in Oakland, Alameda and throughout the world ate today. Sad fact is there are some people who do not have much to eat. Some people have something but it is not nutritious. Knowing this I am compelled to feed this city. I am so happy about this new campaign that we have in partnership with the Multi Cultural Dance Foundation called "The Smile Campaign."
Please visit the website and pledge your gift to make a difference in the life of someone. Yes, you can put a smile on the face of a hungry child. You can bring relief to a stressed mom. You can increase strength to a struggling father. Today is the day to step out and do the deeds of a real life hero. Smile Campaign

Hello my dear readers and faithful supporters. Just wanted you to know that we at feed this city is on the move to feed more people than ever before. I am excited about the Smile Campaign that is geared to not only feed people but it is set to bless our youth with 529 college savings accounts. This is awesome. Not only that, but participants get to earn dollars to help them with whatever is needed for them relating to their interests. For Richard, a BMX bike rider, he is going to purchase a new bike so he can continue to improve in his sport. So you see, everyone wins and the Multicultural Dance Foundation will be able to continue with bringing quality performing arts to our communities.

I hope you will partner with us on this Smile Campaign so that we all may make a difference in our community. What is life worth if we don't reach out to our neighbor and lend a hand. Imagine the joy of knowing that there will be food on the table. Please stand with us in this campaign.

Let's do a new thing. I mean, why not? I am ready to take this movement on to another level. We have got to feed more people this year than last year. Are you ready my Feed This City family? I sure hope so because I am. Yeah, I am doing a new thing this year and I hope you are on board.

Ready For a New Launch

I am really excited about our new launch Sunday May 1, 2011 at the Cinco De Mayo Celebration in Oakland,Ca. It is an awesome time to do big things to feed people in our city and around the globe. With a new mission and great support we will Feed This City. We will do more for the community than ever before.
